psImport Folder As Layers allows you to place all the images from a folder into a new PSD Doument.

Use

  1. Download the script and unzip it in the Photoshop scripts folder.
  2. Launch the script by going to menu File/Scripts (/Other scripts if you placed the script somewhere else)

This script combines a series of images from the selected folder into a new document. All layers are named according to the file they represent. The script handles various formats, color modes, and bit-depths, and even preserves transparency.
